    Thanks Denise. I actually have just been shooting with the 300mm f4 IS with an extender to get greater magnification. I think on the monarchs I had the 36mm tube on the lens also. These, with the exception of the robber fly, were all in natural light with just the lens. The robber I just used the on-board flash since it was a quick capture on the back bushes.

    Thank you very much I was actually trying to track the butterfly in flight next to my garage (hence the plain background of my garage), when I saw this guy coming right at me! I actually was able to get two pretty in-focus shots before I had to dodge the bullet!

    You know there is allot of talk about shooting Birds in Flight in the bird thread. Here you are out shooting bee's in flight. I mean if you can do that how hard should it be to track a bird. Maybe you could give us some pointers.
