I have to travel back and forth to work about 5 1/2 hours each way every week, and this weekend the weather on the way home to see my family was brutal. We're talking running from hailstorms, etc. So imagine my surprise when I happened upon this beautiful rainbow! It is the simple pleasures in life that make it worthwhile. Having had an extremely stressful week of work, this made me smile and realize that I should appreciate these small gifts. I was in such a hurry to get home and see my wife and son that I almost didn't stop for the shot, but I realized that it was an opportunity that doesn't come all that often, and I should take advantage of it. I know it isn't a great shot, but it is more the way I felt when I took it that made me want to share here. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
I suppose I should mention when the voting is up! ITS UP! If you are so kind to vote on the first post and then post a reply to the thread that will keep the voting on the front page for the 4 days the poll is open.
Congrats to all the finalists!
Voted/bump. Congratulations to all the finalists. Nice work.
P.S. The crop changed the composition on the second shot (B&W) in the combined post, and isn't as good as the original shot shown lower in the thread. If the shot is being judged by the re-post, it might affect the judging. Just FYI.

Great work, everyone!
Keep voting.
Might be a good idea to add VOTE NOW to the thread title...
