Re: Assignment 7: Slow it Down

Not my best or favorite long exposure shot, but it makes me chuckle the most.

Canon 7D, 17-55 2.8 at 23mm f/4. ISO 200. 8 second exposure. (Although I like to tell people this was shot at 1/1,000,000 of a second)

Shot in the dark, with a flashlight on the "Flash" to catch the motion trail.

Arizona desert at night, under a full moon. 13 seconds. High ISO, but I kind of like the effect of the noise. Makes it seem like an old sci-fi picture.

    Wow great photos everyone!

I took this a few hours ago. Down town Pittsburgh (or dahntahn to the 'burghers' on this site!) in the city council building. My friends in the photo were taking part in a mock trial court session before this photo (explains the snazzy attire).

It's two photos merged in photoshop. Both at the same exposure. Shot in AV. One at 30 seconds and f/32 to achieve the sunburst lighting, and the second at 1/25 to [just barely] freeze the subjects. Not sure if the judges will skip it since there is a shot at 1/25, but I figured I'd give it a go.

Whatsreal: almost abstract. I like it. What would happen if you would crop it down? The carroussel reference would be less obvious but the abstract color patterns would still be amazing I think. I am totally digging the colors.
