New Macbook Pros Released

I'm not really missing the speed. This one is pretty fast. But less heat would be a deal. I'm used to having it sitting on my lap, but with the heat this one produces, I need a lap desk. It gets downright toasty.

Still, SSD prices are coming down, so one will be in my future.

So the new macbook pro arrived yesterday. Still having some issues with network sharing to my windows 7 pc - got it working over ethernet (via thunderbolt to ethernet adapter) but isn't working over wireless. I'll figure that one out tonight.

Initial impressions:
The retina display is stunning, no two ways about it.
It is amazingly fast, applications open instantly, boots in 15 sec.
The touch pad is awesome, getting my head around the different gestures but it's very good.
It's tiny! For a 15.4" laptop, it's a midget. Amazing they can pack so much hardware into that small body.
OS X Lion - well, it's not what I'm used to but it's pretty intuitive, moreso than Windows that's for sure.
Straight HDMI out rocks my world.
Sound is very impressive for a laptop.
Looks sexy.

That's all for now. Haven't done any photo or video editing yet. I'll wait until I have Aperture and Final Cut Pro X installed and go from there. So far so so good though!
