Great shot Pierre, what are those lines at the top?

Those lines are big fences made of metal. Their purpose is to prevent avalanches from forming at the top of the mountain. There are several villages on this mountain, all the way down to the main valley. From top to bottom, it's more than 2000 meters high, so even a small avalanche forming at the top could have dramatic consequences once it reaches the lower parts of the mountain.
I wanted to climb on this mountain this Fall, and I still hope to do it if the snow goes away before it's too late. The trail goes right through those fences, so if I'm able to take a good picture of them, I'll show you what it looks like.

I have a lot of photos that I am still working through from this past weekend. But I've processed a few that I liked. These were from the "Water Fire" in Providence Rhode Island. I've heard about it for years, this is the first time I've went.

By the way, if anyone has suggestions on how to take photos of fire with the background, I'd be interested. The DR is killing me.....and no, I don't think an extra 2 stops would make that much of a difference ....

About the DR - I have no idea, I don't think they make a big enough fill flash yet. I think found a good balance between scenery and fires in pictures 2-4

It was my first time in this very special place. The little house is a shelter for people who climb in the Mont Blanc massif. It's been built in 1927 by members of the Swiss Alpine Club, right on the top of a cliff, facing an incredible scenery. You can only see a small part of it on this picture. The house was closed when I went there, but it's still open during the whole Summer, with a guy staying there for more than two months to welcome the mountaineers and cook them something before the night.

The hike to get there was quite difficult, especially in the snow for the last few meters (falling wasn't really an option), but the reward was well worth the effort : I was the first to go there since the snowfall, and the only one on this particular day. I was pretty lucky, as it is a very popular place.
