Very nice....great pose with good light and you nailed the sharpness....if you are so inclined, it could be markedly improved by removing the light pole and the bright tree trunks that interesect with bird. Also reduce the brightness of the guard rail. The bird wil really "pop" if you take away those distracting elements in the BG. Very well done, you have a great image here!

Yes, the background is distracting. I will give it a try this weekend with the clone brush in Apple Aperture. Sooner or later I'll have a look at Photoshop.
