Great shots! I've never seen a fox in real life as well. Cool

Thanks Jan. I've seen one before a few times.Even quite near my home here in the city since we have a large park and some small forest and hill patches around here. But this was the first time I had my camera ready and was prepared for one. It was so great that he came back near the hunting tower where I was sitting since I thought I was late and wouldn't see him again after the early morning encounter.

While out hiking yesterday I spotted a herd of red deer grazing in a clearing in the forest. I think the snow at higher levels had driven them down the hill. I have often got shots of the backside of a deer running away from me, but this time I think they had safety in numbers as they kept a watchful eye on me. It's a shame that the longest lens I had with me was 200mm, so this is cropped to about a quarter of the frame.

Since we seem to have a deer and fox theme at the moment, here's my best picture of an arctic fox in its summer coat, taken in Svalbard three years ago.

That was a good kayak trip...hmmmm...makes me want to get on the water.....
The 135L at its best is an amazing lens. Taken with 60D at f/5.6. I think this is pretty amazing detail on the bee for a non-macro lens taken from this distance.
