Joel,
I hope you offer your backyard birds to everyone from this site. If that's the case me and the family are heading to Tennessee in a few minutes for a summer long photo shoot. I can see the line to get into that prized backyard now with the news helicopters hovering away. I can only imagine the fences you have to keep out the paparazzi. (kidding of course)
If I had a tenth of the birds in my postage stamp size suburban backyard I'd me ecstatic.
Ooooh....love those Falconry images....very nice.

A couple from early May when my wife and I walked through the Seney Wildlife Refuge in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This guy was hanging out around our truck when we got back. He did not like being disturbed, and put on quit an angry show. Nothing spectacular about the second one... I just liked the reflection.

Now that I am home, I have processed more falconry pics from the other camera, which was my 7D with the 40mm pancake (my best option given the relatively poor lighting conditions and the 7D's relative lack of low light performance).
Up close and personal with a Harris Hawk. You can imagine how close he was given the 40mm focal length (even on a 1.6 crop).
Coming in for a landing...
Thanks for viewing.
Couple of Windy City gulls.
