Thank you very much! to answer your portrait question, umm kinda sorta yes. I got a really good deal on a 50 and some glass about 8 months ago. always wanted a real camera with some decent lenses. After the deal I got on the gear, I figured I should try and learn how to use it. So I

strobist: 1 Canon 580EX, camera right, about 1/8 power, 1/2 CTO gelled, and diffused by a 14" Lumodi Titanium coated beauty dish. 1 Quantaray QDC-900WA, behind camera, 1/64 power, 1/2 CTO gelled, diffused by a white shoot-through umbrella (just to open up the shadows a touch). Flashes triggered via Cybersyncs.
