Was attempting to take "starburst" shots of the sun going behind some low hills and soon noticed a family of Mink was watching me. Changed lenses and managed to get a few shots of them moving and playing through the rocks. Overall I saw at least 7 different mink, but they are quite skittish and wouldn't pose for a full family portrait, so I settled for individuals and pairs.

Wow I love that second one especially! I would be over the moon to get something like that.

Thanks Jonathan! I have to say I was pretty excited when the minks showed up and stuck around long enough for me to change lenses and get a few shots.

A few from me...this was from a drive along the fringe where the Palouse hills start running into the mountains east of Moscow, Idaho.

    Post Your Best Nature Shots!

I was scrolling through my flickr feed a day or so ago. It's weird, I do not consider myself a "wildlife" photographer...at.all. Much more of a generalist.

But I take a lot of pics of animals....birds, bears..deer...

    And more LOONs

I enjoy looking at the silhouettes of the deer and especially the loons. As I probably mentioned in the past miss seeing the loons at sunrise and sunset at Lake Winnipesaukee as a kid. Great photos, keep up the good work!

A few of my favorite pics of the elk I saw in Banff National Park (some are double posts, from the weekly contest, just trying to get them all in one spot):

This is cropped more than I usually like for sharing, but how often do I get a shot of a wolf walking along a golf cart trail with a recent kill???..... Taken along the golf course in Banff.

That's a great catch Brant, but it's a coyote, in my estimation. It's probably making away with the leftovers of a wolf kill. Very cool action shot!
