    Great shot Joel!

I like the warm sunlight in the foreground and the breathe coming from the elk!

Ok I'm now convinced I recieved a good copy of my 70-200mm f/4L IS. Picture of a peacock I found this afternoon near the Leichardt River, QLD, AUS.

    Thanks for looking. Cheers, Ben.

    Hey all,

Here are some more film pictures, they don't quite have the same image quality as digital but they are good enough for this thread. Taken with Fujifilm ISO 200.

Not sure if this will work (first try), but here is a picture my wife took of a dove in a hanging basket with a Canon S3 P&S camera!

It worked! However, I'd suggest that you scale the photos to 800 pixels wide for the Forum.

I also have an S3 IS--it was my second digital camera, after a Canon G2. I used it exclusively for quite a while until I got a used 30D. If I were somehow able to take the trip to Ireland & Britain that I've dreamed about, I'd probably buy the successor to the S3, the SX20 IS, and take it, rather than deal with the bulk & weight of a DSLR plus lenses. Nowadays, it sits on my desk so that I can take shots of birds at the bird bath outside my window. (I'll be putting up a bird feeder soon.)

I have a Lensmate adapter tube on my S3. It protects the lens when it's extended and allows me to use 52mm filters and add-on lenses. I have (but no longer use) a Raynox DC-730 0.73x wide-angle converter, which takes the S3 to the equivalent of 26mm, but at the cost of significant barrel distortion. (There are better WA converters, but they're more expensive.) I added a Raynox DCR-1540 1.54x teleconverter and DCR-250 Macro lens. With those, the S3 goes from 26mm-662mm in 35mm equivalent, almost what my 30D would do with the lenses I used to have. (Most of my zoom lenses were stolen a bit more than a week ago.)

    40D 100-400L @400 Av Mode 1/100 f/5.6 ISO 100.

I was in a hurry hoping he wouldn't fly away, didn't check all the settings. I would have liked to have bumped the ISO up to 400 to get a faster shutter to sharpening the pic up. It has been cropped a little and sharpened a bit.
