Opinions & advice please! I had the above photo of my daughter printed this morning at Walgreens and it doesn't look anything like what I see on screen before or after my upload! [] Granted, I know Walgreens isn't the premium place to get photos from but the difference in the printed photo is a huge difference! Is it my computer or is it Walgreens!? The difference is in the lighting. In the printed photo, her hairline is almost as dark black as the background but on here I see quite a difference where her hair is brown with beautiful highlights as it is in person!

Please tell me if you see light that seperates her hair color from the background and if her hair color is nowhere near black on your screen!

For what its worth Denise, I use Mpix often via my zenfolio site----Thier color correction is much better than mine. I always use color correction when I order from them and I have never been dissapointed.

Color correction might be good on some shots, but I'm sure that since you process and edit your own photos, you won't like the outcome 9/10 times.


If you can trust your monitor and the prints come out pretty much the same as they look on screen, stick with that and safe yourself some annoyance[]


What I personally did was print a few testphotos from different categories (High contrast, B&W, Saturated shots) and compare them with my monitor(which has a calibrated sRGB profile). I tweaked the monitor untill it was very close to the results and now I can savely order prints and expect them to look pretty much the same as on screen.
