Wally, I know some look at seagulls like I see pigeons---more of a pest than a photographic subject----But that is a gorgeous bird, and....for what its worth, I like seagulls, they are fun birds with loads of personality.

    Thanks for the post,

Great shot of that funny looking long whiskered diminutive bear Denise, never seen one before. Your B&W image is superb.

@Wally, love the gull, did you have any hot chips to lure him in with?

I've been lurking for a while. But, I thought I'd share these pics tonight... Finally, something worthy to show. I discovered her just outside a window last night. I really hate spiders.

Haha if spiders had such colors where I live, I'd be outside with my macrolens for ever! Great shots!

Thanks. I've been reading up on it. They're nocturnal and usually stay hidden, which is how I prefer it. But, I was "lucky" enough to have some spin its web just outside the window. I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Digging through my old pics now. They're more standard fare though.

Finally took some nicer pictures with the 55-300mm! I have been going out to shoot birds and such, but none of the shots were anything too spectacular. Today though I think I got a keeper... I wasn't sure if i should post it in the birds or nature thread, but I decided here due to the background and lighting on the leaves really making the shot IMO.

OJ, Thanks for posting. I think this has a lot of potential, but I have a couple of suggestions:

1st, it seems pretty dark on my monitor. Perhaps you could bump the exposure and or brightness a little and play with the contrast to see what looks good.

2nd, a little tighter crop with the bird off center would also improve this image IMHO

Nice shot and thanks for sharing.
    Bob
