Backpacking Glacier National Park

Some shots from our recent trip to Glacier National Park. Spent 6 days backpacking from Two Medicine to St Mary. This was my first time taking a DSLR on a trip like this. Ended up just getting the smallest Lowepro bag that fit my T2i and 17-55 lens and clipped it to the front of my bag so it was right at my chest. Worked out really well. Also brought my new Gitzo GT0531 which made for some cool night shots.

This was an 8 minute exposure. I also took a bunch of 30 second and 1 minute exposures too, but for some reason this one turned out the sharpest for the mountain.

Triple Divide Peak on the left. The Continental and Hudson Bay divides meet here. So water falling here can flow to the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean or Hudson Bay.

Looks like a nice trip, and it looks like the 17-55mm worked out very good for you (that moose must have been close). The 1st, 2nd, 9th are my favorites... I am a sucker for waterfalls or anything with water.

That is a beautiful set of images- I'm guessing the moose and maybe the sheep were with the 55-250

Sambisu - great stuff. I could just stare at the water fall pics for hours.

As am I, a sucker for waterfalls, etc. I could imagine taking 2-3 hours at the waterfalls just taking pics and waiting for the light to change - depending on how they line up with the sun, etc. I imagine I would have been left behind and so much bear food.

You are correct. Moose and sheep pictures were with my 55-250. I was definitely wishing I had a NDF so I could have done some more long exposures on flowing water. There were a number of other cool spots, but it was just too bright when I was there to do any longer than 1/4 second most of the time.

Thanks! Yea, weather was great. Actually a little on the warm side. Highs were in the mid 80s pretty much every day.
