Just received Tamron 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD

I just received my new Tamron 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD.
After adjusting the AFMA to +20 it seems pretty sharp.

So far I like this lens but can't believe I had to AFMA to +20

I would almost be inclined to send it back to the retailer for an exchange. Imagine yourself 3 years down the road and you want to sell the lens (for whatever reason). What if the person whom you're selling to has a body that would require a +22 for proper focus calibration? As that is impossible, they'd receive a lens which would appear to be dysfunctional with no means of correction.

The same scenario may occur with any additional bodies you try to use the lens with. It's just too risky, in my opinion.

To my eye, it looks a little back focused.....I would try maybe +12 or +15

Even so Sean has a good point....that is a big adjustment, another copy might be better.

Is your Spyder picture before or after adjustment?
It looks back focused to me.

+20 I would send it back.
