Minolta MD 600mm f/6.3 lens on ebay.

    Hey everybody,

There is a Minolta MD 600mm f/6.3 manual focus lens on ebay with a low starting bid if anyone is interested (are you listening Oren?) Link http://cgi.ebay.com/Minolta-600mm-F-6-3-MD-APO-Tele-ROKKOR-X-SRT-100-/250785079936?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item3a63f4a 280.I have this lens and it's extremely sharp wide open, light weight and a lot of fun to use. It's a rare lens to find used and I have only seen it twice on ebay, this one is in excelent condition. The other was in poor condition and it still sold for 1 grand! The Nikon 600mm f/5.6 which has a reputation for being not as sharp sells for about $1800-$2000 on good condition. If you can get this for $1500 it's agood deal andI'd jump on it if your interested in this lens.I've seen the Minolta sell for as much as $5200 at another store![:O]

Here are a couple ofpictures taken with my lens,

You can convert it to EF relatively easly or use a EOS-MD flange from this guy from Italy (which I bought from him). Link http://digitalrokkor.altervista.org/minoltalens.html.

    Happy bidding!

    John.

While you're at it Google "Consumer Price Index Inflation Calculator" []

$351 in devaluation over 21 years.. $16.71/year isn't a bad price to pay What does Minolta (now known as konica-minolta) do these days? I imagine they quit making camera lenses due to competition?

edit: oh I see it came with a 2x teleconverter and a body too.

seeing that a lens it held its value over that long of a period, really makes going out and buying a really nice lens way more tempting
