Does anyone know the time frame which Canon usually announces its new cameras? I wanted to upgrade from my XSi to either the 50D or an upcoming 60D. Just wanted to know how long I might have to wait to get the best deals.

Usually its 18mo for xxD bodies but the 50D was released at the 12mo mark. You can visit the Canon Museum for more detailed info.
Go visit canonrumors.com and see what information trickles through. My general sense from the postings there is that the manufacturer release calendars are going to stretch out a lot due to the economy. It's tough to recover R&D dollars AND pocket some profit if not a lot of units are selling.
