    Only in Portland

I didn't get any good shots or timelapse of the eclipse today -- too rainy and cloudy here. But I did shoot these eclipse watchers. You might think it's the solar eclipse that drives people to something like this. It's not. They do weird stuff like this every day here in Portland.

Well, the honeymoon is over, but I still love my new Nikon. The list of minor annoyances is growing (e.g. the sensor cleaning is worse than my old 5D2, which is itself worse than the new 5D3 I bet), but the major benefits are turning out even more useful than I expected. I'm using an extra 3 or 4 stops of dynamic range on a lot more shots than I would have before -- it's enabled an entirely new shooting style for me (e.g. DoF bracketing).

Should we be charitable, and despite the many excellen microbreweries in the area, assume that's a bottle of root beer sticking up next to the parking brake?

I wonder if it is because of Nikon's superior DR that you are able to see that ..."root beer"
    Busted by superior technology.

Ok, so did they live nearby and walk the sofa out or did they drive around with the sofa on car? Never mind, I think I know.

I like the P U sign. Hopefully it is not meant as a personal commentary.
