    not what you usually want, but ...

    ... I still like it somehow. I was experimenting with spot metering and obviously hit the white chest of the gull. It loks a little like the bird is on stage.
    What do you think?

    Another "urban wildlife" picture. Parking lot of a shopping center, the gull and other birds were attracted by the dumpster, the Highway 101 in the background.

    Yeah he looks spot lighted rather than spot metered.
    Keep them coming, is this the start of your "urban series"?

    so far it is just a handful of pictures, not really a series. But yes, I would like to create one. Just need a little more time and errrh, better skills would be nice :-) but it is a fun learning experience. I will post a few more soon.

    I like it, too. thanks for sharing your technique, I m gonna try some spot metering!
