    Remove the camera batteries including the Date/Time battery till you are sure the camera is dry.

    Are you sure that it was the rain or just a random failure? I have taken my 60D with non weather sealed lenses in heavy rain for hours many times and never had a problem.

    Me and my cameras have been through more than a light rain before, but maybe the water landed just right.Did you ever get insurance on it?

    Thanks! After the rain stopped, I took it out shooting and had no problems at all. Maybe it all depends where the rain falls. I did have the camera aimed downward, shooting at ducklings & goslings at my feet . I don
