    Great shots!

Especially love last one and jrw's third one, really "desolating!"

I got two different shots that i really love. Usually, 99% i don't shoot people, and from that 1% i usually don't shoot my girlfriend... but this time, she fell asleep in my car after an aerial dancing session so...

Boosted ISO at 6400, f2.8 on 40mm pankake, but shooting time was still 1\4s handheld... i didn't want her to wake up (60D has a nice "clack" sound) so i shooted just one... and then convertend in B\W due to the high iso.

And this is a picture from that dancing session, shooted from the car park with 70-300 - just to look like a maniac !

Pipsqueak SL1 mounted to the Sigma 120-300 and 2x extender. Actually didn't balance too bad using the lens foot in my open left hand.

    Great recent photos....

jamsus...beautiful captures. Both have a lot of mood too them, I like the B&W conversion.

    Dave....ridiculously beautiful shot.

Mark...I am actually pretty impressed. I know the SL1 has a good sensor, but a 2xTC...that is a very nice shot. I was on a whale watch earlier this year and ended up talking to a blogger for the National Wildlife Federation. He was shooting orcas with the Sigma 120-300. Loved it. Also, I held the SL1 recently. I was surprised at how small it was. Very nice moon pic, btw.

Thanks. The Sigma 2x TC on the 120-300 is exceptional. I honestly feel it's a fair bit better than the Canon 2x TC III on the 400 5.6. I don't have access to a vII Big White, so maybe it works better with them.

These were taken a last month at the CAF's open house event at their future home, the Dallas Executive Airport.

One more interesting shot from this past summer. This one was taken at an annual aviation event in Lancaster Texas. This was not shot with Canon gear, I was playing around with a Nikon D7100 and 70-200mm F/4.0 lens that weekend. I snapped the photo as I walked by the Douglas A-26B Invader that had just arrived. The only reason I took the photo was because of the crowd starting to form. It was when I got home I noticed a few things, like the couple taking a selfie and the guy kicking the tire like he was considering buying the plane. Anyway, just thought it was an interesting photo.

I was down in Rhode Island for Thanksgiving and toured a few of the mansions in Newport, RI over the weekend. Marble House and "The Breakers" were actually built by Vanderbilt brothers (Marble House was actually in the name of his wife, which became relevant when she divorced him: ). But the Vanderbilt's made their money controlling the trains in and out of New York City. In the top of the Breakers was a room with toy trains. Of course, the fall of the Vanderbilts (a peak of $300 billion net worth in today's dollars; Anderson Cooper of CNN is a descendent) is largely blamed on the lavish spending, income/estate taxes, and a shift in transportation away from trains.

A few shots all with the 5DIII and 24-70 II:
