    Is it an Apple?

I took this last April, I was testing out the 24-105L when I first bought it. I found this near an apple tree and am assuming by the hardened exterior skin that it's an apple. Inside you can see that the once flesh has turned into a powder. Flickr caused some of the sharpness to go away but here it is:

In Norway, we would call these "smokey mushroom" (røyksopp). We used to kick them around when we were kids. Lots of fun. I would probably do it if I found one now too.

Correct, they are Norwegian, but quite famous abroad as well. Wondered if anyone would notice. Well done...
