I'm concerned about the mixed reviews of said retailer.

My experience with Henry's and price matching.
Don't push the sales rep to beat the price if the other retailer's sale price is lower than Henry's cost. The sales rep I dealt with was steadfast and didn't budge.
Instead say, "I'd rather deal with you guys, you're closer and it's easier for warranty service. If the competitor sale price is lower than your cost, could you give me the unit at your cost?"
Henry's isn't losing money and they are building customer loyalty, give it a try.
