Most likely, either direct due to supply shortages (no idea how much back-stock is in the supply chain), or indirect, as people buy in advance of anticipated shortages and/or shortage-induced price increases.
I remember Bryan saying the Canon Direct store was selling refurbs now and some prices were good and some not so much. Now I keep checking both the store and canonpricewatch for another one to pop up. Don
