Capturing fast cars.....
.....this is my 2nd attempt at this and I managed not to park them. []
The photos were taken 5-22-09, Lime Rock park in CT., at their Memorial Day weekend gathering of vintage F1s, Grand Am, and F2000 categories, between 11a and 3p on a sunny day.
Unfortunately Lime Rock is 3 hour drive from my house, so taking advantage of the golden hours wasn't possible.
Particulars I used to capture moving vehicles; AV, TV, M, shutter between 60 and 160, ISO 200-500, AWB, f stop mostly between 8 and 13 and some higher.
Equipment; 40D and 100-400IS, some captures w/a polarizing filter, all hand held panning and in RAW.
I would appreciate input, tips concerning technique and capturing of this type of subject.
M, 1/125, f11, ISO 500 w/CPF
AV, 1/60, f18, ISO 400, + 1/3, w/out CPF
M, 1/160, f10, ISO 500, w/CPF
Cropping isn't accurate, the photos were resized to fit format.
Thank you in advance
Bill

All the 3 in your post are simply sweet and look like pro shots! Great work []

Re: Capturing fast cars.....
The second one is my favorite. Very good choice in cropping and a very clean background make this photo stand out. Excellent job in panning for all three. Very nice.
