    Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG - A few photos

A few were interested in seeing some photos taken with this lens so here are a few from last night and today. EXIF can be seen in flickr, just click on the photo to go to my flickr account where there are a few others posted as well.

These were all hand held (except for the photo of my daughter) so they could have been better if I used a tripod. I have a funny feeling the tripod would have went down if I had it outside today the way the boys were so excited to see snow!!

    Thanks for looking!

    Denise,

    Nice outdoor shots!

Looks like that sigma is "tack sharp," almost to the point where some of the airborne snow looks a bit unnatural (IMO).

Also, looks like it will be an excellent portrait lens.

    Thanks, Jayson!

Since this was my real first chance to use the lens alot, I was sort of all over the place with settings seeing what this or that would get me from this lens.

To answer your question, for the outdoor shots ...

    1st @ 1.4
    2nd @ 1.4
    3rd@ 2.8
    4th @ 3.5
    5th@ 1.4
    6th@ 1.6
    7th @ 1.8
    8th@ 2.5

and the second to last shot was @ 1.6 and my daughter was at 2.8

Wow Denise, these were all very nice photos! Besides a great photographer besides the camera, and the cute subjects (daughter included!) it must have been that incredibly sexy lens you have! Sigma's new 85mm f/1.4 huh? I'd love to have it! I have Canon's EF 50mm f/1.4 and that's nice though....

Thank you very much, Jordan! I am enjoying this lens very, very much!

I also have the Canon Ef 50 f/1.4 and it too is a very nice lens! Many of my favorite photos were taken with that lens!
