I used an "oil painting" effect for this one

Awesome shots, Joel. Does the ext tube reduce your MFD?

I was shooting HDR shots on a farm in the UK when I saw this gaggle coming. Had just enough time to get out of bracketing mode.

Thanks and yes....that's exactly why I was using it. I was very close to the feeder. By using an extension tube you can focus closer but you lose infinity focus.

This little guy showed up in the yard today .... I am not sure of it's ID ... I think it is an Eastern Wood Pewee or a Willow Flycatcher. Anyone know for sure?

Wow -- very nice shot. I'm going to vote for the Willow Flycatcher. I looked closely at some bird ID websites, and it's definitely tough to tell the difference. What they need on those sites are some better photos... hmmm... I wonder who might be able to supply some...?

Thanks Jonathan...I was using my Peterson's field guide and having a difficult time deciding. It looks like my bird does not have any white circle around the eye and the wing bars are not white. My wife thinks it's a young Wood Pewee but I thought it was a Willow Flycatcher.

PS I would be honored to have my images use for a field guide. They are all available on my Zenfolio site....pretty cheap too
