    Continuing the "post your best... theme", post your best bird shots!


    I'll start with this one: (It's resized so sharpness is not as good as in the original)


    Green Heron, shot at a Japanese Garden in FL.

    Well, It's not a Nate shot, But I was pretty happy with this one, the Heron, let me get within 30 feet of him.

    I think this is a black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax). It was sitting very intently by the edge of the pond, staring into the water. Although shot at the zoo, it was wild (unbanded).


    5D2 + 300/4L IS @ f/6.3 @ 1/60s @ ISO 320

    Really great shot Nate - truly amazing. The other shots are also great guys, really great job.


    Nate, we've asked before and if I'm not mistaken we haven't got your reply (you probably missed it).


    So I'll try again: generally, how far are you from the birds?
