    Canon rebel t2i ,Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM and 50mm 1.8?

Canon rebel t2i ,Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM, and 50mm 1.8? i havnt bought my camera yet but im looking at these two lenses

as starter lenses since im a beginner i wanted a kit lens upgrdade and i hear the sigmas really good and i wanted a general zoom lens and i needed a low light lens so im going to get the 50mm 1.8. is this a good package for me i want to take pictures of low light areas inside a building with some light i want a wide angle decent zoom lens so i can take pictures of anything that i see. some people ive heard say the 3rd party lenses arnt good?? suggestions do you think that the sigmas a good walk around lens or can you suggest a better walk aorund lens and ive heard that the sigmas better than the canon 18-55mm kit lens? i like the sigmas cause it internally focuses and zooms?? any suggestions on a general walk around lens my budgets around 400 dollars for a lens thanks sorry if this is confusing please no people saying that you need to look into lenses and crap like that

The tamron 17-50 2.8 is about $420 and a lot of people swear by it. The non-vibration control version is supposed to be sharper. Is the Canon 17-55 IS better? Prolly, but at $900 for a refurb it better be. As far as 3rd party stuff goes, Sigma has a quality control issue but if you get a good one, it's great. Tokina has one in this range and is built solid, but has issues with CA that could be removed thru post processing, but...I'd stick with the Tamron and the constant 2.8 is a big plus.
Words get in the way of what I meant to say.

I can swear for the Tamron 17-50 (NON VC) - its very sharp, light and has a solid build. When i bought it, i was concerned about not having IS but to be completely honest, I never missed it.

Hi Caleb! You may want to consider the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM. It performs very well. I was considering Canon's 17-55mm f/2.8 but I found it too pricey for my pocket.
    Cheers!

I love my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (non-VC) and have enjoyed my Canon 50mm f/1.8 tremendously.
