What site did you download CS4 from?
Indiana University has a site for their students where they can download various softwares free or at low cost. Photomatix only requires a valid school email and they'll send you a code to that email to enter in when you're downloading it.
torrenting is a good friend... lets just say that..
or have a photography buddy who has 2 legit cd keys to give you one for free :P
