    B+W XSP Filter

Hi, have any of you come across with the new B+W XSP (or XS-Pro Digital) filter?

It is of slim design while having front threads for mounting additional accessories such as filters, screw on shades and lens covers (as claimed by B+W website).

Is it true that it can hold the factory canon lens cap?

To be honest I'm not sure...never had experience with that particular model. However, two reviewers at B&H seem to like them.

I have the B+W XS-Pro 82 UV (010) and 72 UV (010) on my TS-E 24 3.5 L II and 85 1.2 L II respectively. They are 3 mm in thickness (they look actually a tiny bit thinner than Hoya Digital Pro-1) and they can fit the original Canon lens cap.

After fitting on the Canon caps, you can notice an 1-mm gap between the filter and the cap. But since the cap button can still click into the filter's front thread, it's still secure (although not as secure as the B+W F-Pro filters... I'd say it's like 90-95% as secure).

Quality-wise, it's as nice as you can expect from B+W.

Highly recommended for WA glasses if you have concerns on mechanical vignetting.
