To the tune of Jaws....

Seems that there has been a lot of "deals" on 5dmkII and 7d lately.

Is this in prep for a new "4" or "6" series that is a segment consolidator????

Something that is a step up from both in functionality, but well short of 1dx, and is positioned to "consolidate" the two bodies?

Makes manufacturing easier, more scale, etc. lower cost/higher margin?

Auto sense the EF-S lens and crops the sensor & view finder and provides 16/18mp or something "worthy" in the crop? Jumps to full frame 24? mp??? with EF lens? etc. I know this doesn't make a lot of sense in that you can always crop the image post production, but it would be helpful not to have to do so much PP work.

Come out with an "L" EF-S set of lenses???

What more would want in the form of video from a DSLR body (I know it is a separate question, but would be the target of the "next" body).

Moore's law seems to be tardy to DSLR world - and I am disappointed with the 1Dx product evolution standpoint.
