Late Afternoon Birdbath
Have some fun with a rented EF 400 5.6 You've really got to push the ISO(1250) with this baby to get a decent shutter speed (320) and aperture (7.1) combo but I'm stillexperimenting a bit.

Re: Late Afternoon Birdbath
What camera did you use? why did you rent it? What is the Exif data? i like the shots i think there could have been a better angle though there is not much of the bird showing it either of them

Agree the angle was bad but I was sitting on the ground waiting on the evening flight of mallards of the yard. These were just random shots while I was waiting. All of the shots were ISO 1250, 1/320 @7.1 except for the mockingbird which was bumped up to 1/3200

Awesome! How far away were you?

Re: Late Afternoon Birdbath
Actually, I really like how the second one has the bird just peeking over the edge...
Dude!

About 30' give or take...
Here's a couple of other shots. Ducks were my main objective but the were playing hard to get.
