HELP! 20D problem, urgent help needed!!!

Help!

Wondering if anyone has encountered this problem. Canon 20D turns on, top LCD is working except it is not showing number of photos taken or left, but the back LCD is blank, and the camera will not take a photo.

This is my son's camera, he is in Canada right now visiting friends, and soon he will be flying to CA to actually shoot a wedding for a friend.

He has tried two different batteries....not sure what is going on...

ANy suggestion?? He is in a pinch!

All the symptoms sounds like it either doesn't have a CF card, or the pins in the slot are bent, and the camera doesn't know the card is there.

Hmmm, interesting idea...I am going to pass that on to my son. I am in NY, leaving for Russia soon, and my son with the 20D is in Canada who is there for a few more days then heads to California and then to Jackson Hole where he is living...so, its hard to troubleshoot when we are on the road
