Do you have any quick impressions for those of us without a 100mm macro, but considering both of these? Does the new L seem an immediately better lens? If I want one of them I probably need to get on a waiting list somewhere.

Here's an image with the old 100 mm f2.8 without the IS. If the new version is considerably sharper...I too will get on the waiting list.
