Joel, every time my email says "new reply from Joel Eade" I think, ooh some more great shots are gonna be there, and I have yet to be disappointed. Great work, sir. I like that little guy in the middle, tufted titmouse? Great composition, pose, lighting.

Thanks so much Dave, I appreciate the kind words and yes, the middle one is a Tufted Titmouse.

The top one is a Male Downy Woodpecker and the bottom one is of course, an American Robin.

Funny story about bird pictures. I posted this picture of a pelican on this thread a little while ago.

Anyway, my Father-in-law calls me today and says, guess what!? That picture of yours is gonna be on the front of the Jacksonville, NC Onlsow county phonebook! So naturally, I thought., WOW!! NICE. ... Then he said that for some reason, since he had brought the picture to the editors attention the editor put my father-in-laws name as the photographer. [:@] Doh!

Oh well, least I know it was me. [:'(]

    Ade,

I live in a small town in central Kentucky....my house is on about 5 acres of land and 4 of the 5 acres is woods ... the backyard is right up against the woods and I have a few bird feeders set up to attract birds. I use various branches positioned near the feeders as perches for my photos and I use a camoflage deer hunting blind for my camera location so I can be very close to the set up perches.

I posted some images of this a long time ago and I can

Here is another from today. There are a lot of Sand Cranes in the fields this year, but it has been difficult getting a decent shot.

Edit: Looking at this post, I did not like the bokeh with the Sand Cranes... so I spent some time in PP to clean up the background, and re-posted. I think I like this much better. I am have a lot of problems with AF and Bokeh with my 100-400L when shooting birds in corn fields. There is so much clutter in the background that it confuses the AF and the picture turns out so cluttered. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to here from you.
