Male Cardinal....same EXIF data as the previous image.

I got a good deal on 2 Einsteins, 2 umbrellas, 2 soft boxes and 2 portable batteries so I am trying them out in the back yard. The birds don't seem to mind!

These are also images I took yesterday using the Einstein flash units and a softbox. Compared to a camera mounted speedlight the larger, softer light source with a very short flash duration seems to help capture feather detail nicely with slower shutter speeds.

I think Doves are often overlooked. They have a lot of subtle colors that are beautiful. You did well here...nice sharp image and the flash at low power looks natural....don't you just love the better beamer?

not great quality but this is the closest i can get to this guy. i found a nest while out fishing and its only accessible by boat , of course the wind was howling and the boat bobbing but i got a couple of decent shots. these are cropped quite a bit because he was about 250 feet away.
