Ok...a bit surprised, but this thread hasn't been used since July.....ok...time to remedy that....
I believe this is a Female Harrier (Edit-Red Shouldered Hawk). Taken at Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive with Mike (Busted Knuckles)

Brant,
I didn't do much at all with my back yard set up this summer and fall.....I do have nice sets of bird images from Alaska and Ecuador. Guess I better get with it and start posting -
I like the images you have here, especially with prey item in it's talons but I think this might be a Red Shouldered Hawk. I don't see the typical white patch at the base of the tail that seems prominent on Harrier's.

A selection of images from Ecuador:
This is a sample of what we saw in Ecuador ..... the diversity of bird life was astounding!
Joel....great set of shots! Looks like you had a great trip. Seeing all those different birds had to be thrilling.
Joel,
Fantastic shots. I have to ask were these shot with your 600mm or something else? It looks like you were able to get very close to the birds in most of the shots. Details and colors are amazing.
Scott
Thanks for the kind words.
All the images were on the 5D MKIV.
Hummingbirds were shot with Canon 100-400mm version II lens near feeders.
Other birds mostly with 600mm and some with 1.4 TC as well.
I left out several Tanager species (each post is limited to 12 images) but may post another set to include those.
