Nowhere near the quality of the other shots in this thread, but thought I'd share anyway as I don't seem to have many bird shots lately. This Grey Jay is from earlier this summer. We were camping with the family and my son insisted I take a picture of this grey jay who wanted to share our breakfast.

    I like it Stephen!

I found again a lovely "Tuffetto" (Italian which means "Little dip")!

For my set up bird photography I like the image quality of the 5DS R above the 1DX and the 5D MKIV as long as the ISO can stay below 2000

Above that level I think the 5DMKIV and 1DX images start to look better than the 5DS R.

    These are 5DS R images @ ISO 1600

I guess I am just going to have to trust you Joel. Because they all look so good to me.....

But it is interesting that you are seeing the cut off.

I think that in good light they all can make fabulous images. Only in lower light can I begin to see that larger pixels are better and it seems to me the 5D MKIV keeps up with the 1DX quite well in this regard and still retains amazing detail. If it had the high frame rate I believe it would seriously damage 1DX sales.

Joel, your photos are always so beautiful and inspiring!! It is like the birds know to just come and pose for the birdman!

I haven't been out shooting in a long, long time but thought I'd head out with the 150-600mm before I sell it. Big mistake, now I don't want to let it go! These were all taken hand-held which is a big challenge for me with this lens! Here are a couple keepers ...
