Wow... thank you very much. I will work on it. I appreciate the advice.

I am w/o a camera for a while, so I should have some time to finally sit at the computer and get through some RAW images that have been left unattended for far to long.

Bill, nice pose, great details and colors.

Male Orange Bishop (Orange Weaver Finch)

These are originally from Northwest and Eastern Africa, they are quite established in Southern California.

Beautiful capture of a beautiful bird Nate.....interesting origin. I'll have to do a little research to see how they arrived in the states.

Standard is pretty high recently but I had a funny shot I wanted to share. I was in the wrong spot to get this guy, but got a lovely leg shot.

That's awesome you were able to get the head sharp at 1/125!

Thanks Joel for the comment....if you click on the photo it takes you to Flickr. Flickr shows the EXIF info, if it isn't immediately visible, under the last comment you'll see the small letter i....click and the EXIF will appear.

EXIF for the ABE; f7.1, ISO 1250, shutter 1/2000 at 700mm

The slow shutter speed (I've captured a sharp head down to 1/60th) is practice for when the sun comes out....if ever ....I face west when shooting and w/PM diffused backlighting, the slow shutter will reveal the pattern of the wings' stroke. Pretty cool in IMO.
