    Canon Camera and Lenses Services

When should I service my cameras and lenses?

    How much for service cost?

Do I need to service camera with lens together?

Using cameras: Canon 1D MK III (around 10K shots 4 months old) and 5D MK II (around 15K shots 5 months old)

    Using lenses: Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8, 24-70mm f2.8, 50mm f1.2, 70-200mm f2.8 IS, 100mm Macro f2.8 IS, 300mm f2.8 IS and Ext 1.4x II

    Flash: 580EX II

    Suggestions? Thanks !

Just a thought:with all that gear there is a chance you might be able to be a member of the Canon Professional Services. As part of the membership (free, go on their website) I got a free sensor cleaning, which would have cost me about £65 at my local Canon Service Center for a full frame sensor.

If your gears are under the 1 year warranty, service is free. Here in the US, sensor cleaning at Canon Irvine, CA is $30, anything else has a fixed initial charge of $180.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it![]. If you gears are working fine, I don't see a reason sending them in.
