    Pat, I have a lovely nest in my front porch that I get to look at every day. Crazy how fast these guys grow. I missed 4 days and they have feathers and barely fit in there. Mommy must be feeding them worms laced with steroids.

    Here is a trip to the backyard photo. This is a 7 shot stack of a what I believe to be a baby hover fly.



    Here is a size view of him digging into a dandelion. Not the best picture, but there for scale. I was trying to get them having a snack but the dog kept trying to lick my face and apparently that scares tiny flies.

    Found this big red ant on the mouth of a gatorade bottle.....not sure what it is really? It was hard to get a shot in focus because he kept going around and around the bottle top

    That's right....I looked it up too. It's a female wasp (no wings so it looks like a big ant) of the genus Multillidae. The male can fly. Apparently this pretty lady can deliver a very nasty sting too. Glad I didn't get to experience that
