One suggestion I give is to stitch two shots: one like the one below and a longer exposure focused on the trees to bring out their detail. It's a photoshop technique but if you can do it that would help.

Bring out the details in the trees? I think you got it wrong - that's what it should look like (and that's also what it looked like in my naked eyes as well).

Yeah I do know (and hate it!). But that's not the case here.
Do you really think I'd underexpose something that much that it looks totally black and still post it here?
Younailed the exposure as far as I'm concerned! Looks fantastic, andwith lots of saturation too.[]

If you get RAW form as CR2 just develop with Lightroom 3Beta you will see some details on the bottom.
