best way to remove batter cover from my Canon 5D

Just purchased the battery grip for my Canon 5D Mark II. Can't find instructions in the manual or in the literature that accompanied my grip as to the best way to remove the cover to the battery compartment. There is a small screw on the post so I'm assuming that loosening that screw is the way - just want to make sure before I breakout the tool kit. Any of you installed the battery grip? Any advice? Thanks, Tony

On my XTi and 5D mk I the hinge post is spring loaded at one end. You can move it with tweezers.

Even easier. The hinge is spring loaded, all you have to do is slide the small screw down with your finger nail and the door will pop off.

There is a place to store that door inside the grip. do that and you won't lose the door.
