Just before the last sliver disapeared
I had to up the ISO to 800 because of drag movement from the moon. F5.6 Shutter is 0.6

This was at the end of the total eclipse.
about five minutes before this time a thin light above the moon began to show.

Wow. Some really nice shots. [Y][S] Thanks for pulling 3rd shift to get those. Now, I hope you are getting some sleep.[B]
[li]Well I don't think I heard any werewolves last night, but I did hear some strange offerings that sounded more like ghostly wails rather than wolves![6] www.hauntedamericatours.com/werewolf.html
50 something posts on the moon and just a few images, and they're all mediocre at best [][][][][][][:P][:P][:P]...let Nate give you some tips on how to successfully photograph the moon.[]
Shooting the moon is very easy...you can even shoot it handheld.
I want to tell you first that the longer the lens the better it is, because you want to fill your frame with the moon as much as you can, this way less cropping is involved, and if you want to use low ISO you need a tripod.
My setting would be Manual with aperture at f/5.6 or f/8, ISO 100, and shutter speed around 1/500 to start out with. If the moon is too dark, decrease the speed, if the moon is too bright, increase the speed.Do that until you see all the craters on the surface of the moon. That's it folks! Very simple.
We've been having record breaking rain in the past 4 days here in Southern California so I couldn't shoot the eclipse, but here are my two photographs of the moon.
Blue Moon - Canon 40D + EF 400mm f/5.6L USM - f/5.6, 1/1000, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, Handheld
I shot this handheld so I need the shutterspeed hence ISO 400, I used tungsten white balance to make the moon blue []
Canon 7D + EF 500mm f/4L IS USM, f/5.6, 1/125, ISO 100, Manual Exposure, Tripod
I find that shooting the moon when it's full is boring, these are about 50% crop
