Assignment 17: What is it? -- 24 Hour Run Off

Good Morning all! I have our new assignment ready to go today! We all got hungry with "Assigment 16: What's on your plate?" and had some excellent submissions. For this new assignment I want pictures that are not obvious what they are at first glance. Super-macro shots are naturally oriented this way, but details of buildings, cars, etc would also work very well. I am sure there are other ways of interpreting that photographically! So submit your photos that make people ask "What is that?" I'll be creating the finalists list for this edition.

There was a tie in the voting, so I have opted for a 24 hour run off! Vote early Vote often (or something like that)

    Rocco

I have no idea what this is, and I like the dramatic colors.

This one bit the mathematical side of my brain. It looks like one of those computer generated-fractals. I also like the contrast provided by the side lighting

Congrats, Dan on your winning entry from last round! SinceI couldn't submit because I didn't have a camera, instead I just baked brownies and ate them!

Here's two photos from me for this assignment. Both were taken with a 7d, Canon 100mm f/2.8 L IS Macro Lens, 3 Kenko extension tubes stacked (36mm, 20mm, 12mm) and Canon MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite.

Both are at 1/50, f/14, ISO 200, handheld

This next one is my official entry for the assignment (unless I come up with something more creative by Feb. 12th [:P])

<span class="user-name"]It is natural apple juice with <span class="HW"]precipitate (looks like rust). And after several days on the surface growed white and shining mould[]

    <span class="HW"]It's definitely <span class="HW"]uneatable.

Apple, that's really weird, with that colour!

It looked like chocolate pudding with mould to me...

Only bought from the shop apple juice is transparent, looks brightly yellow and without precipitat.

But natural is brown and not transparent. Of course, it looks a little strange in this photo, because that strong brown color and consistent gives brown precipitat.

Try at home if you have tools to squeeze the juice []
