The show continued today. This week before the clocks go back is way up there on my list of favorite times of year.

The 70-300L at full zoom with a CPL. Aside from a smidge of clarity slider and a bit of a crop, this is SOOC. Hey Baby, the sky's on fire.

Here's the wider shot at 70mm.

That's a highly impressive sky Mark, well captured.

I ventured back out to Telstra hill yesterday afternoon. I was attempting to capture a storm that was about to roll into town but it petered out just as it got to us. Instead, I got this one. This is just around the corner from where I took the photos of the bushfires a few weeks back. When I took those the fire was at least 5km away and heading away, the wind turned the next day and brought it back to where I took this shot from. It's really interesting out on this hill looking at the scarring across the landscape. Heaps of photo ops. Took this with the 5D2 as I was making a time lapse of the clouds moving across town and I left my camera plate for the 5D3 at home, so this is one of the shots from the time lapse sequence. Was a good opportunity to run around with the 5D3 and 70-200 II and check out the autofocus and new features it has.

Anyway, here it is. Taken with the 5D2 and Samyang 14mm f/2.8. Honestly, this little lens is sensational. At 100%-200% magnification you can see plenty of detail in the mine site in the centre of frame, the detail in the tree in the foreground is spot on too. Very happy with that purchase.

Not one of my "best" shots, but I couldn't resist. The IRS got sandbagged.
