Went on a hike yesterday evening with my dog and my sister so that I could take some photos of the sunset from the top of a mountain. Unfortunately there was a lot of cloud cover so it didn't turn out as well as I had visualized, so hopefully I can go back on a day without a cloud in the sky.

Sunrise Photo Shoot at Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison Texas

Two museum pieces, Sopwith Camel and Fokker DR1 Triplane, that haven't seen the light of day in many years. Both are replicas, but the instruments in the Sopwith Camel are authentic.

    Equipment: EOS 6D, EF 24-105mm f/4 L, Sigma 35mm f/1.4

Just invested in some Lee filters, including the Big Stopper, which I used for this 30-second exposure of the view out to sea from Aberdeen Harbour.

I used a graduated neutral density filter to retain some detail in the sky and a polariser to darken the greens and blues in this shot of Aberdeen.

Likewise for this view of Slains Castle on the Aberdeenshire coast. The castle is supposedly the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's "Dracula".

Beautiful sets Eric, David, and Andy!

I told myself I wasn't going to shoot the moon after seeing hundreds of pictures of it already, but the dog was taking forever last night so I snapped a few. Sorry if you have seen a million of these also. I am going to try for the meteor shower this evening should time permit.

    Hi there,

after reading some lens reviews on this forum, I ended up buying a second hand Canon EF 70-300. I went out today with my ancient 400D and took my first shots. I'm not a pro, any criticism very appreciated!

I have been down in Bogota, Columbia to support a company down there implementing an environmental remediation project. Long days did not allow for much photography, which is too bad as there is much to photograph down there. But I did manage to grab a few (all taken with the EOS-M...the 5DIII stayed home):

Nice shots, Tony. Can't complain about the sharpness of that lens. Looks like you nailed focus on all of them.

Brant, I didnt realize you were in the environmental remediation field. That was my previous field before IT. I did almost exclusively VOC cleanup. Lots of that needed in New England with all that heating oil.

Ha...I am cleaning up those same VOCs. Some SVOCs and metals. The Bogota project was an old pesticide site.

I saw this photo on my phone through the Flickr app, and thought to myself "That looks a lot like the night photo of the church I took in Colombia." Then I logged in here and saw the captions! I wonder if it is actually the same church, I will try to dig up that photo, I must have it somewhere.
