I struggled a bit with what to post in the March contest. I really wanted to include this one:

A bit abstract, but I like it.

Here is also another "current" shot from my walk along the South Bank in London trying to walk off the jet lag.

The central image of the composite is itself a merge of two exposures, one for the corona and the other for Baily’s beads. It occurs to me that while corona + Baily’s makes a nice image, Corona + Bailey’s would make a truly disgusting cocktail.

Maybe it's one of those things that sounds gross, but actually works. You'll have to let us know.

This is violating all rules that govern the universe as I know them…

What happens when beer and liquor are one??? And not one coming before the other???

A few of my other eclipse pictures. Taken outside of Austin, Texas (Spicewood).

This shot was taken shortly after the above and you can see how we were battling clouds right up until totality. Fortunately, we had a couple of clear moments during totality.

    Incoming Dog Pictures

I just picked up a R6 II (since it went on sale), primarily to take better pictures of my dog... My 5DS autofocus can't even hope to keep up, and the ergonomics of my M6 II are less than ideal for this kind of thing. It felt like time to get a new camera. I'm using all adapted EF lenses for now.

Took her out to play fetch in some dandelions yesterday, figured that would be a good first test. I need to fiddle with the AF settings, because my keep-rate was still not as high as I expected (expectations based likely on hype from optimistic youtubers). It may be that my EF 70-300L just can't keep up with a dog running at full speed towards the camera. I got some nice images, but there were plenty that missed autofocus. Still better than any of my other cameras, though.

Nailed eye focus when she's sitting still.

Congrats on the new camera and great images!

Yes tinker, but I will say, I’ve always struggled with animals running straight at you. Side to side is much better.
