The intensity on your friend Matt face in fantastic. You did a real good job in contrasting, making this photo very exciting to look at. Well done.

I often relied on a soft back ground bokeh effect, when I do snap shots on the run of people, (in my case often my grand kids), but often the back ground takes away the intensity of the subject. I do not have PS, only LR, so I did send this photo to my mate to see if he can put a black back ground layer into the shot and I love the result. I better start learning the Art of Layers....LOL.

Mark - Great air show shots.

Stephen - This is such a great "kid" shot. I showed this to my wife and two daughters, and they all did the same thing... they all said "aaawwwwww". It is a pictures that evokes emotion... which is the main point. You really captured that emotion well.

Thanks Wally! He sings (more screams really) really heavy metal, so that's where the intensity comes from. I'm glad you liked the processing, most of my friends have received it well, but some have said it was over processed. It was the first time I've tried that kind of worn/damaged look and I really liked how it came out, especially coupled with the desaturation. Great shot of the baby too!

Last weekend I went on a boat-trip along Göta Canal. It was quite an interesting tour and it was fascinating to climb uphill and go downhill in a boat. Of course I brought the camera.

Some fellow pasengers in the lower left corner. The granddad told his son & grandson lots of interesting stories about the canal and I listened too.

Here we're coming in for the finish with a series of locks down to the lake. I believe the height difference is approximately 19 meters over a rather short distance (seven locks in a row).

Took the kids to the demolition derby at the Sheboygan County Fair today. Caught a few good shots with the 6D and the EF 24-105L. I was able to get pretty close, which was nice. Click the photo to see full res.

I'm enjoying a return visit to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and it is already off to a great start. I'm actually hoping for clear skies so I can see the northern lights. But this evening's sunset made the cloudy sky so incredibly worthwhile. I could not believe how it suddenly lit completely on fire. The local fisherman in the foreground isn't even posing for me... it all just worked out perfectly.

Beautiful shot Jonathan.

I tried to get a night shot with a nifty fifty (50mm f/1.8) and my 7D. It took some trial and error, but the best one ended up being with the aperature wide open and ISO at 1600 (highest I have ever gone). It is quite noisey and not all that sharp, but I was happy the milky way showed up as clean as it did with the 7D.
